What we think of the Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers
Whether you are listening to some tunes or playing World of Warcraft until your eyes bleed, you’ll need some speakers. If your broke (or just cheap) like a lot of us, you may want to check out these Logitech desktop speakers.
Do they sound good? Considering the price, yes they do. Are they sexy? Well, not really. They aren’t your hot next-door neighbor, but you wouldn’t kick them out of bed either. Let’s see what the Gophers thought…
Well, you get a set of Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia speakers with a power cord and audio out cable. They have a volume control knob as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. Not a lot to say about them, what you see is what you get.
They are cheap, small, and a breeze to hook up. They may not be much to look at, but they are certainly not ugly. For the price and sound quality, they deserve some attention. They would definitely make a great set of replacement/backup speakers. The Gophers thought they were just fine for everyday use, but if you’re serious about your sound quality then you might want to try another pair.
Not a lot to look at with these. They are very “plain jane” and don’t have many features. They are kind of like that “decent” looking chick from high school. You’d take her out on dates, but you’re probably not going to show her off to all your friends.
You just have to plug them into the wall socket and hook the green audio cable into the device. Until they can make robotic speakers that hook themselves up, you’re not going to find an easier setup.
They sound good, but not outstanding. The Gophers pumped different kinds of jams through these little guys and were pleased with the quality. At moderate levels, it handled Country, Rock, and Rap with no problems. For some added culture, we threw in some Beethoven, and it handled that with ease as well.
When we cranked the volume up, it was a different story. The speakers are kind of like my ex-wife; they can’t make their mind up and go from sounding good to annoying pretty quickly. If you keep the levels normal though, they sound pretty nice.
If you need a cheap set of speakers, that you can rock out with (at moderate levels), then you will probably want to give these Logitech desktop speakers a shot. If you’re looking for Bose quality sound, then you might want to try a different set. They aren’t bad at all, just not for a serious audiophile.
